Public Safety History Milestone Moment

Northbrook's fire services were formalized on March 18, 1924, with Resolution Number 197 establishing the Northbrook Fire Department, including a Fire Marshal, assistants, and volunteers, building on a volunteer department first formed in 1901.

That year, the Village also bought a Pirsch Special 450 gallon-per-minute pumper for $4,550, mounted on a locally built Reiland & Bree truck chassis.
