Come out and enjoy the Opening Day Bash featuring fun for all and a celebration of the Village's 125th Anniversary!

Join us at 10 a.m. for the traditional watermelon-cutting ceremony, which  officially opens the market season.  Free attractions include live music, face painting, slices of cold watermelon, games for kids,  cool swag and more.  

The Village of Northbrook and Northbrook Park District are excited to host our 4th annual Grapes on the Green at Village Green Park. Join us for wine tastings, live music, art and games! Bring your own blanket and a picnic dinner. Light snacks will be provided.

The day begins with the annual Liberty Loop & Lap at Techny Prairie Park & Fields in the morning, followed by the Northbrook 4th of July parade down Cherry and Cedar Lane in the afternoon, and finishes with the big Northbrook 4th of July fireworks display in the evening – best experienced from Meadowhill Park.

This day-long event attracts amateur and elite cyclists from across the globe as part of the Chicago Grit race series. These Criterium bike races, also known as “crits,” are exhilarating events with bike riders speeding through downtown streets. The Northbrook Grand Prix course includes parts of Shermer Road, Meadow Road, Walters Ave, and Church Street as it winds around the downtown and the Village Green.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, more caring places to live.  This event includes DJ entertainment, giveaways, swimming, snacks, popsicles, drinks, games, raffles, K9 demonstrations and more. Get ready to have some serious fun at this free event!

The 6th Annual Northbrook Brewfest returns this fall! The Northbrook Park District and the Village of Northbrook are excited to host this craft beer tasting event in the heart of downtown Northbrook featuring live music, a photo booth, games and more. Grab food in the park or bring your own picnic.

The Northbrook Historical Society’s annual fundraiser and outdoor autumn festival brings the community together to celebrate local history and heritage. Enjoy the “Classic Northbrook” Car & Truck Show and the Cow Pie Moo-lette raffle alongside live entertainment and music in the Village Green!

Join the Northbrook Fire Department (and Sparky the Fire Dog) for the annual Northbrook Fire Department Open House! Kids of all ages can climb in fire trucks, talk to firefighters, and explore the station, all while learning about fire safety. This year's Open House will have a variety of outdoor activities including live displays of fire apparatus and equipment and demonstrations by the Northbrook Fire Department Special Teams. Bring the whole family to enjoy this safety event!
