From Runways to Business Park

Did you know that Northbrook once had its own airport?

Sky Harbor Airport opened in June 1929 and offered flying lessons, plane storage, and private flights for business or pleasure. It also served as a base for Gray Goose Air Lines, which gave sightseeing tours of the North Shore for just $5 a ticket. Today, the site is Sky Harbor Business Park, though two of the original hangars still remain near Anthony Trail and Maria Avenue.
